Yesterday we left Nana and Grandad's place in Marrar for Hay. It was Nana's Birthday and I made her three pictures for her Birthday present. We had a good morning with Nana while Daddy and Grandad worked on the camper. When we left it was pouring rain. Mummy bought us some blankets for the car, so we wouldn't get cold, so we snuggled under them. It got dark very quickly, so we couldn't see much. I tried to take a picture of outside but it was too dark. We stopped to get some hot water to make noodles and we ate them for dinner in the car.
We arrived in Hay at 9 o'clock and Mummy and Daddy set up the camper at a caravan park and we got in our jammies and went to bed.
When we woke up in the morning it was raining. I could hear the rain on the roof. Daddy told us not to touch the roof or the rain would come through the canvas. Then Mummy woke up and we went to have a shower. It was crowded because the room was small and there was four of us.
Everyone we meet says "hello" and asks us where we've come from and where we are going. We tell them we come from Sydney and we are going to Darwin (except Claire who says "Kakadus!) They say that it's a long way but it will be much warmer.
Today we're heading for South Australia. It's going to be a long drive.
later:
We crossed the Murray and the border so we could have some lunch on the banks of the river in Robinvale in Victoria. We sat on the roots of a tree to watch the river flowing. Just before we left we saw a fish floating past! We had a good run around to stretch our legs.
We stopped for a play and then took dinner in the car so Mum could keep driving on to a caravan park in Morgan for the night.

While Mum and Dad packed up we played on the playground then Mum took us for a walk to see the ferry taking cars across the river. We saw a little brown ducky catching it's breakfast. Then it was time to leave. We drove over lots of hills [the Flinders' Ranges] and saw lots of windmills. Some of them were the ones that produce electricity and some were normal windmills. We saw quite a few emus.
When we got over the hills we saw water. It was Port Augusta. We stopped to get supplies before starting to head North. It got dark pretty soon but before then it looked very flat with lots of low bushes. Once it was dark we finally saw our first Kangaroo. It was hopping along the side of the road and as we slowed down it jumped across the road in front of us! We slowed down very quickly and missed it. Then we drove and drove and drove. We saw road trains which are trucks with lots of trailers. Then we saw lights. It was Woomera where we were staying for the night. Now I am eating dinner and then going to bed. Tomorrow we are going to see some rockets at the rocket park. Then we are driving to Coober Pedy.
